These certified organic macadamia nuts are grown on a family farm in Kona, Hawaii. Please note that the macadamia nuts are like the picture shown, mostly halves.
Because macadamia nuts fall to the ground they are more prone to contact with bacteria (this is why most macadamia nuts are roasted, in order to kill pathogens). Macadamia nuts must go through a low heat stage to ensure that these pathogens are destroyed. We use a farm that dehydrates their nuts at low temperatures of 145ºF for one hour, high enough to kill pathogens, but low enough to still maintain nutrients.
