Apple Crumble

My childhood favourite, this delicious Canadian classic is my mom's recipe.

Ingredients

7 gala or spartan apples, peeled & chopped
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 tbsp of water
1 tbsp of cinnamon

Topping:
1/2 cup gluten-free flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
6 tbsp of butter
6 tbsp of brown sugar

*Please use organic when possible for greater nutrient density (and a happier planet!).

Method

Mix the apples with water, sugar and cinnamon and place in the bottom of a baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix together all of the topping ingredients. It's best to mix with your fingers to work the butter into the oats and flour. Sprinkle the topping over the apples and bake for 35 mins at 375 degrees F. Allow to cool a bit before serving. Yum!
